Black Turbo, 2019
The oval patterned coat climbs effortlessly on the skeletal remains of the umbrella. Where is the respite I seek as I run for cover?
Empty Place, 2018
The dancing fans around the empty stool celebrate the joy and inspiring zest for life my grandmother brought to my mother, my sister and me before her passing.
Medical Marionette, 2018
The fragile threads of human lives are stitched together by medical knowledge into blue, glowing sheets of medical records. It is time for us to fight for universal healthcare so that children do not die from illnesses that can be cured.
Passion Series - Spiral Symphony, 2018
Wanting to challenge myself, I came up with the idea of combining wood, fiber and steel to create an art piece that represents the complexity of interpersonal relations. After trials and errors, I produced this sizable piece by curving steel wires into a spiral shape and wrapping red yarn around the skeleton.
Passion Series - Lotus Root, 2018
Our personalities are made of threads that add to our unique complexities. I believe the feeling of solitude is heightened by a location we associated with energetic crowds and social interplay.
Bloom, 2018
Living alone with my mother and my sister, I have blossomed from a young girl into a self-sufficient woman.
Lullaby, 2019
I still behave like a child sometimes, even after reaching adulthood. The dancing lights cascading out from my pillow are remnants of the last bit of innocence preserved in my dreams.
Newton's Cradle, 2017
Cultural traditions are passed from one era to the next. The thin layer of glass symbolizes the fragility of traditions as they clash and transfer over to the next generations.
Daring Boats, 2019
My childhood dreams are sealed within the paper boats that sail bravely against the waves of the red sea.
